The European energy market is under construction, expandingparticularly as interconnections between national transmission networksincrease. EDF has a strong position on the four largest Europeanelectricity markets: France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany,with shareholdings in the rest of Europe, too. Over and above itsinvestment program in France, the EDF group plans to consolidate itsleadership based on its current positions by strengthening itsportfolio of electricity generating assets in Europe, fostering thegrowth of its subsidiaries, and pursuing integration within the Group.
